When it comes to midsize SUVs, the Mazda CX-9 is routinely one of the leaders of the class. This is why the changes to this model are usually pretty subtle every year. And while the 2022 Mazda CX-9 is very similar to the 2021 version, there are some key differences.

i-Activ AWD® Across the Board

If you’ve ever driven a Mazda CX-9 – or maybe you owned an older model – it probably came with front-wheel drive. When you take the new vehicle out for a ride, you may immediately notice something different, as i-Activ AWD® is now standard. When you’re taking sharp turns or need to speed up to maneuver through traffic, you’ll appreciate this addition.

A Brand-New Trim

Another change for 2022 is that a new trim has joined the lineup: the Touring Plus. This striking model comes with a black grille trim, black-painted 20-inch wheels, and aluminum-colored roof rails. It also has a power-adjustable front passenger seat, leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats. In addition, you will get a power liftgate, proximity keyless entry, and extra USB ports. To augment this car, there are several features that can be added, including:

  • Satellite radio
  • Wireless device charging
  • 2 more USB ports
  • 12-speaker stereo
  • Front and rear parking sensors
